Police: Woman attempted to kidnap 2-year-old from front yard

SUMTER, SC (WIS) - Sumter Police need your help locating a woman who attempted to kidnap a 2-year-old girl on Monday night.
Police say the suspect tried to grab the girl, who was playing in her yard on Flamingo Road, but the child's mother ran outside to protect her daughter.
Officials describe the suspect as between 30-40 years old, 5'7"tall, 175 pounds and was last seen wearing all black clothing with her hair in a ponytail.  She was last seen at the intersection of Flamingo Road and Plowden Mill Road running toward Boulevard Road.
Investigators also believe the female suspect had been seen in the area previously before the incident.
