Investigators arrested a 22-year-old fugitive after neighbors say they saw him carrying rifles and shotguns in a Moncks Corner neighborhood.
The Moncks Corner Police Department charged Jabaso Jauquan Newby with second-degree burglary and receiving stolen goods. Newby was also wanted on a probation violation.
On Tuesday morning, a concerned citizen reported a man walking the area of Newell Street and Monitor Circle carrying several rifles and shotguns.
Detectives found four long guns, two computer laptops and a pistol in a wooded area across the street from the victim's home.
According to police, Newby was arrested after officers saw him leave a wooded area near Highway 17-A.
Police say Newby had stolen property belonging to another victim whose car had been broken into.
Authorities say Newby gave a voluntary statement admitting to the burglary.
